Traveling to Campus

BY CAR

Traffic on the Capitol Beltway (I-495) and Baltimore Avenue (U.S. 1) can be excessive on Fridays between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Allow plenty of time for travel to campus, and consider the use of alternate routes down Paint Branch Parkway to avoid traffic congestion.

Locally you can listen to 103.5 FM (WTOP) for traffic conditions in the Baltimore/Washington region. For personal assistance via telephone, call the University Visitor Center at 301.314.7777.

BY RAIL (Metro)

The Metrorail system includes a College Park-University of Maryland station stop on the Green Line. Disembark and board the Shuttle-UM bus (104 College Park Metro route) at Bus Stop C to the University. University identification is not required to board. Riders will exit the bus at the Stamp Student Union and may transfer to other Shuttle-UM buses to get around campus.

The 104/College Park Metro route operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. at 10-minute intervals. Additional service is provided seven days a week from 8 p.m. to 12:40 a.m. and on weekends from noon to 7:40 p.m. at 20-minute intervals. On Fridays and Saturdays, the College Park Metro Station route operates from noon until 3 a.m. at 20-minute intervals. Complete schedules for Shuttle-UM are available on the DOTS website and Metrorail schedules are available at wmata.com.
